Hi Arron, there's some good vendors on EBay which have compatible formula's to ensure your buying the right L.E.D for your model, Also YouTube as loads of videos on how to install them correctly.

I am still familiarising myself with the bulbs on the MK4 also, but if you visit autobulbsdirect then put your number plate in, they tell you what bulbs are in use. Then you can take that and pop it into ebay.

For example, I was looking for cree reverse bulbs, used the site and found they are 382 fitment, so then searched ebay for Creee Q5 382 and that brought the right ones up.

I used autobulbsdirect everytime I bought bulbs for my CMAX and I think they were wrong on only one thing, so I compared that to my manual and rectified it. but they seem to be right in almost all cases.

If I am not mistaken its a 501 wedge bulb :)

They definitely do them as they show them being fitted in the U.S. on YouTube as per last comment, I want them too as they look great!!

Just done all mine.... sidelights, puddle lights and number plate lights are all 501. Put 501 canbus led in evil bay and take ya pick. Got 4 led on one side for puddle lights. Single led for the number plate and 5 led for side lights being one forward facing and four on the side.

Ive changed all my internal + external lights to LEDs on my mk3 apart from the headlights and indicators - (indicators are de-tangoed and i use chrome-orange bulbs) all the units are otherwise stock, i don't see why you could not do the same on the mk4

Watch out for blue-tinged white LEDs on the front (eg sidelights) as they may be illegal or not pass the MOT or you may be pulled with them on
