jeebowhite
Hi Guys, I disconnected my rubber conduit on the boot so that I could install the camera wires, and now I cant get it back in properly. The plastic bit wouldnt come out willingly so I broke it a little so that it would easily come in and out, but I cant get the rubber conduit around the plastic and get it reinserted so that the rubber groove sits snugly in the gap? For now I have removed the plastic, pushed the conduit straight into the hole, pulled it back and used sillicone to try and keep the water out until I can do a proper repair. Any suggestions? Heres some pictures of what I mean!
Stoney871
Can you get anything behind the plastic collar (a block of wood or a screwdriver) to keep the piece pushed up allowing you to use both hands to stretch the rubber back on? I had to refit a similar part on my old MK1 Focus after fixing broken wires and was able to slip a wedge under it via a gap between the headlining and roof. jeebowhite
Getting that bit on is the easy part lol, the pain is trying to get it to sit back on the gap as the lower rim should sit under the frame and then seal the hole but sadly I just can't get it to snug under the gap.
