Hi all. Could i ask for a bit of help please. My mondeo had suddenly started struggling to start earlier this week, taking 2 or 3 attempts. Today it will not even turn over and an engine malfunction warning comes up. All the dash lights, radio etc all work so i dont think its the battery. Any thought would be much appreciated

    does it crank over, does it just die ie light go out when trying start, does it click when trying start? a tad more info please....

    was gonna say if it struggles to crank then probably the battery, otherwise if it cranks ok but dont fire up could either be spark plugs or ignition coil maybe. or if diesel could be glow plugs

    Sorry little new to this. Its a diesel. It used to turn over but not fire up. Now it literally does nothing, theres no clicking like a flat battery and doesnt even attempt to turn over

    hmm only thing i can think of is the battery is pretty much dead to be honest. im no expert so unfortunately thats all i can suggest. sorry

    take off your battery, and charge it up over night then try it again in the morning.... maybe go from there... or if you have a multi meter etc..... test your battery in situ...

    If charging of battery doesn't cure this problem, check all earthing points in engine bay, specially the one for starter.
