Egr Valve Bolt

Featured Replies

Hi All,

New here but been doing a few mods to my focus. I recently tried to blank the egr valve on it only to find one of the bolts was rounded off. I've tried searching for a spare bolt in all the normal places (ebay, scrap yards etc) but have had no luck. I don't really want to get it out by force without a replacement bolt. Does anyone have an idea on how I could do it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi welcome :)

Would these damage the bolt? I don't want to take it off then realise I can't put it back on.

no they don't bud...good tools to have. :)

That might be the way to go then! Thanks.

No worries ....... if you have a Machine Mart local they sell them.

I would say dont recycle the bolt, once its out, get it replaced, but go to Ford, they can be cheap for odd parts like this, in comparison to the hassle you go through trying to find the part elsewhere!

I wouldn't reuse the bolt either, for all it will cost to replace why bother.

As for those extractors, if the bolt isn't too tight they will remove it with little damage but if it's tight then the will destroy it as the more force you apply the more they grab and dig in. I don't have that set but I do have snap on set I use often enough but they all work on the same principal.

Don't reuse the bolt. Go to Ford get a new one. Just make sure you don't snap the bolt when putting it back on.

If your car is the one in your profile (2007 Focus 1.6Tdci) then the Finis code for the bolts is 1311175 and they're around £1.30 ish each.

Thanks for that! That will make the search for one a bit easier. :)
