Egr Blanking Blowing Out

Featured Replies

So not many days ago I took the EGR plate to the car and got it fitted! I thought that was good, and already it is showing its merits, however, having popped the bonnet now, I just saw a little beat of "crust" on the top of the plate. Seems that on a small section of the plate the exhaust gas might be blowing out...

Just trying to work out whether I need to add a seal, remove and replace the seal or, just wrap emalgamating tape arouind it and pretend it never happened :D

Any thoughts?

I will try and post a picture later!

Heres a pic, and oddly its blowing out from the EGR pipe side, not the engine...

I am beginning to think where I slid it in, I either didnt slide it far enough down (more likely, or I installed it the wrong way around - haha! either way, I just took it off, cleaned up the cack and pushed it in, its gone further down this time, so I shall watch and see!
