Hi,

I have an escort 1.8d van and the seats are pretty scummy as it used to be a garage runaround, especially the drivers seat where the pad holding wire grid has collapsed and after about half an hour in hot weather smells like dead dog!!

I was wondering if anyone knows if any other seats fit it, I used to work in the engine plant in Bridgend and I know how Ford likes to use the same parts on more than 1 car so I guess that Fiesta or Mondeo seats will have the same fixing arrangements but I don't want to get hold of seats which then won't fit!

Has anyone else done this? I can't believe no one has tried upgrading the seats for heated or leather ones?!?

    I had Sierra Cosworth leathers in mine, I've known seats from Fiesta's, Escort RS Turbo's, Sierra's etc fit. If the runners are different just swap the runners off your original seats to the new ones, most Ford seat runners are interchangable between seats from what i remember with my van.

    Many thanks AdeMk1, I thought it would be as Ford are pretty lazy at designing new stuff from scratch (and as and when I find some seats I'll post back here in case anyone else wants to know!) but it's always good to have someone who's been there and done that confirm before you spend on something which probably doesn't fit!! Cheers mate!
