Car Hit By Neighbour

Featured Replies

My Focus Collection was hit by a neighbour trying to park his car.

He was honest & knocked on my door & owned up, which I'm glad about as most people nowadays would have kept quiet.

He recommended a bodyshop he'd used before that were good so I went down to get a quote - £250! Nearly half the cars value!

Being a Collection edition, the bumpers are like hens teeth to get hold of so I'm glad it can be repaired really.

Anyway, got back & told the neighbour & he said thats fine, it costs what it costs & to book it in, passed me the cash there & then too. Top bloke.

So its booked in for the 23rd & get it back 2 days later.

Here's a pic of the damage...

Will post another when its fixed.

Ade.

Good that you have some honest neighbours!

Nice to hear he was quick to own up and sort it all out, must of been a big relief.

Wow, I wish I had neighbours like that!

I was ready to come in and say "your car was hit by your neighbour, hit your neighbour with the car" but you spoiled my fun there :p

That is really good of him, and I presume that if the bill extends that he will pay the difference! sounds like a really top guy and one I wish I could have living near me!

Hate to admit it but I hit my neighbours van...the plastic bumper part. ...it was already dented I prob just pushed it in slightly. ...I did knock his door & said what I did. ...he came out looked at it and said its fine it was already dented ....it was a year or so later he was out with hair dryer popping it out himself. ...you'd never notice it now

Yeah really pleased he owned up, but it wouldn't have taken a lot of detective work to figure out his car was involved - my black car with his blue paint on it & his blue car with my black paint on it, both at the same level! I would been a bit lets say, annoyed, if he hadn't admitted it & I found the evidence.

He says it took him an hour to pluck up the courage to knock! (I'm 6'2" & built like a brick whatsit!)

Anyway, just glad he was so honest & it's getting sorted.

Only problem now is the freshly painted bumper is going to put the rest of the car to shame :-)

All done! £250 later......

Took them 4 days not 2, but pretty happy with it.

Shows the rest of the car up now though so I'll have to break out the detailing gear & get cracking on that!

Looks good! must be nice living near neighbours who are good people! :p

Last neighhbour who hit my car did sweet naff all to apologise, I know who it was, and their cacky Astra had more than enough evidence, but the police didnt think so and I ended up out of pocket... so its refreshing to hear a story where they are decent!

I remember seeing a picture recently where a guy hit someone elses car, they wrote a note for the windscreen that said all in all "Your neighbour saw me hit your car, so I am pretending to writer my details down - sorry" its people like that who make your blood boil!

I'm glad he did own up, I certainly hadnt expected anything like that as I've only been living here 2 months so I'm the new guy on the block!

It's shocking the proof you need these days to be able to prove stuff, sometimes I swear you need a letter from God!

going through a situation myself where proof is key to everything. If you get bored, have a look and see what you think, goes to show that neighbours arent normally the only problem.Ha

ve a look at the general chat section under the title an update would be nice... no need for a letter from god on this one!

Nice to see a shiny MK1!
