Ford Audio System With Iphone- No Audio

Featured Replies

I have purchased a 2011 Ford Focus with the Ford Audio System and I have difficulties connecting my iPhone 5 with latest iOS 7.1.1 with the USB connection.

When I connect my iPhone using USB the Ford Audio System recognizes it (it says iPod, not Iphone). I can see that it starts playing the music tracks from my phone and I can fully control them. I see the meta tags and I see the progress in time of the song in my Ford Audio System.

Problem is I can not hear the sound.

All seems to be working just fine. I can navigate the albums, titles etc. All comes up on the screen. Just no sound ...

Using a USB Stick works perfectly.

Using BT works fine too.

Any help is much appreciated.

I have a feeling it needs an ipod cable that connects to both usb and the audio jack.

Just tried it there, works perfectly if I plug both the usb and audio from the car into the iphone.

Thanks for your help :)

Update your headunits software, this should sort it out then you'll only need to connect the USB cable http://www.ford-mobile-connectivity.co.uk/downloadsUpdates

Place the files on the root of the USB stick and follow the instructions.
