does anyone know why my 2012 fiesta keeps alarming inside of the car when i use reverse or 1st gear. i have taken it to a main dealer and they could not fix it as they say it is an intermittent fault. its getting really annoying. no light come on the dash only the sensor light starts to flash on and off. please help

    i just have front and rear parking sensors in the car. nothing internally. it alarms when i put into reverse or 1st gear only… but not every time

    where does the alarm sound to be coming from, and what sort of tone is it? can you capture a video and upload it?

    this is exactly the same problem as mine. no lights show on dash only the sensor light flashes continuously then after a while it works fine again until the next time. the alarm is the same too as in the video. the alarm seems to come from inside the car.

    Very odd indeed... What happens if you take the handbrake off as you change the gear? I certainly havent heard of this one! I wonder if its a short in the system somewhere, or if its a new feature that has been inadvertently enabled?

    As you've got a video of it doing it now take it to ford, I had an intermittent squeal which never did it when ford looked at the car, so the very next time it did it, I videoed it on my phone and took that to ford, low and behold from that they could listen and try and determine it's why it was doing it

    I took the car down to Ford with Ford gal and showed them this video, they didn't have a clue.

    They didn't even know that it had a light on the inside of the car?!

    Any help would be great on this mystery! :)

    Very very weird!

    I would suggest you contact head office, send them a link to your video and advise that the local dealer doesnt have a clue! they should be able to speak to their master techs and get you a more suitable answer than you have so far!
