Ford Alloy Silver Colour

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have the actual colour title of the Ford Alloys? Specifically I am looking at my mondeo's colour but I suspect they will all for the most part be the same...

Ford Stardust Silver is the colour I've used before with 2-3 coats of laquer & a good flat and polish/wax. Very good colour match.

Cheers Ade! I am thinking I might try on an old alloy and see how well it goes, as I am tempted to try and self refurb my alloys!

I've also been wondering whats the best match for my alloys, even started a thread myself :P

From my long search I got the following,

Ford don't have an actual colour for their alloys, and the alloys change over the years.

'Moondust Silver' first seemed most popular for touching up alloys, then some say 'Stardust Silver' is better, these 2 are in Halfords.

'Sparkle Silver' is on the newer alloys (maybe 2011+?), and 'Brilliant Silver' mentioned for 2008 ST's, but I've not seen these in Halfords.

So not very clear what I could use on my 2009 Zetec S Alloys,

I've had this bookmark saved for a while as my best shot, I want to try the 400ml Aerosol.

Yeh, if I had a few quid to burn I'd get all 5 wheels done professionally,

I'd like them re-sprayed in the Anthracite colour on the Mk3 Focus ST alloys.

Would be nice to see what it would look like to get the silver bonnet lip & Zetec S diffuser done in same colour.

To be honest I'm tempted to do mine myself. Got a spare alloy from a mk3 from a friend at work so can use this is the practice rim, get a tyre on it, and use this as the substitute wheel. then work to sand and repair mine myself, it won't be a pro job but if I can leave it looking great I will be happy!
