I know this may be a little silly compared to many of the Technical questions members ask.

But it matters to people like me who tow Caravans.

My S Max 2.0 gives me [all from the cars V5] a max permissible weight of 2505..thats easy..

It also tells me that the max braked towable weight is [braked]1750.thats clear..

It then goes on to say Mass in Service? is 1825Kg..

Is this the kerbweight of my vehicle?.

I ask because the reccomended towing capacity of any vehicle is 85% of its kerbweight,and I am sure any Insurer will look at this if God forbid i

have the proverbial accident?

Must find a Public weigh Bridge..

    Taken me a while..but..solved.

    Took the car to a public weighbridge..with me onboard [75kg] and 1/2 tank diesel..and the luggage cover in place my vehicle weighrd in at spot on 1800kg.

    Hope this helps some other Caravanner.
