Knocking Sound On A 2006 Focus Zetec Climate Control Automatic

My car has recently developed an annoying knocking sound. It appears to be coming from front nearside. I thought it could have been the suspension,CVJs or anti-roll. All these have been checked and fault is still there. My garage recommend I take it to a dealer to see if they can identify it, but haven't the funds for that. Has anyone a clue as to what it could be.
