Ive just noticed that my drivers side window no longer goes up after the second click. Im 100% it used too.

Once you've pulled it past the first click and onto the second, that's when the window should continue by itself, does yours not do that?

Nope :( does it on the way down but not on the way up anymore!!! Annoying. Trip to ford tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply :)

That's unfortunate. How long have you had your Fiesta? And you're welcome.:)

just reset it - get the manual oot!

Oh yeah! I forgot about resetting it. You'll have to perform some sort of mystical procedure in accordance with the book of knowledge.

sorry but dont u just hold it for 2 secs

Mine definitely has two clicks, holding it for two seconds would pretty much take the window all the way to the top!

well then, i sit corrected

note to self: be more observant with windows

hold it 4 2 secs 2 reset it.

2 clicks? Oh dear I must read my manual, I just lift the switch thing and accept whatever the window does for me oops lol

Have all models got auto up, I am not sure?? I know all have auto down but not sure all specs have auto up.

Well the zetec has because its now working fine again :) thanks MsMashed for that.

Why would it suddenly drop out and need resetting for?

Not sure unless you have disconnected the battery for some reason, but I guess you have not. I did have a simillar problem with an Astra of mine a long time ago, at the time I phoned vauxhall and they did explain a reset procedure to me over the phone which worked fine. So it may well be worth looking in manual, googling it or if you really have to Ford might know how to do it, although I would not put money on that, they might accidently take the engine out to mend it or something.

Well on Ford ETIS my windows are referred to as "one touch up/down"

Nipz: the window might have become obstructed somehow, or there might have been too much resistance because it says something in the manual about it.

The only bit I can remember though is that if you hold the switch up when the window meets an obstruction and then pull and hold again then you switch off the safety stop. So don't go putting your arm through your window whilst closing it, just in case!

so the reset was to do what you say??? hold it for 2 secs - hmmm

My passenger window has never gone up on auto like my drivers one, how do I reset it?

Been there on my dads old old car!! lol god i felt stupid :) was only about 8!

They have the pressure sensors in them so it can sense if something is blocking it so dont see it being a problem really :S

If you reset your window twice in cold weather, forcing the window to move past the "obstruction" ie ice or whatever, you disable the pressure sensor! So don't stick your head in then! Otherwise problems will be big!
