you think thats bad we have a motorway that goes into a dual carrage way any the motorway speed limit is 120km/h and then when it ends and becomes the dual carrage way your expected to go from 120 down to 80km/h in a few seconds theres no 100km/h few meters down the road just a straight drop nd yes i did pick up points because they were on a bridge over that particular spot. I found this very unfair and uncalled for just needed to bring there tally up for that day didnt bother stopping me the speed i was doing was 92km/h so clearly i was slowing down

EDIT: two years ago they brought in these new highly visible camera vans with the whole idea being the motorists would spot them and slow down. Now I have only ever seen 1 of these vans in the last 2 years so they are clearly a waste of tax payers money as they have reverted back to hiding there white transit vans behind bus stops and in bushes as usual.

the other week i seen a Garda out with his speed camera hiding behind a tree for god sake the only thing he didnt have was a camo suit wasnt even wearing a high vis jacket or vest his squad car was parked around the corner out of site. I think if the justice minister is going to bring in new vans then they ought to use them new vans and stop with t here sneaky ways. Now everyone brakes if they see a white ford transit van parked at the side of the road.

You're definitely onto something here with some of your comment, however; (I'll use mph here), when you're driving in a 30mph zone, and you see ahead of you a 40mph zone, you're not legally allowed to go over 30mph until you pass that 40 sign...the same works in reverse - if you're doing 40 and you see a sign ahead saying 30, then legally, by the time you get to that 30 sign you should have slowed down enough that you're DOING 30 when you reach the zone..

Off topic,

On the way home at 1AM I was doing XXX Speed on the A3 all of a sudden the Po Po in a black beemer came flying up behind me ( must have been doing some stupid and I mean stupid speed ) lights flashing and I though Removed removed I'm removed, slowed down and pulled left but.... he carried on ahead, proper panic time with the funky taste in your mouth that was.

Did it rattle you enough that you slowed down?

Don't understand why people hassle the police, they are doing their job. In relation to the video, what the police were doing had nothing to do with the cameraman. Weather the police are high viz or not doesn't change the fact you are speeding.

I'm not saying I'm perfect, I'll admit I get carried away with the right foot, but if I was stopped I would admit to it and not hassle people who are merely doing their job.

That said, I personally feel the reason people speed is that speed limits are being made ridiculously low for many roads.
