New Owner, Durashift Query

Featured Replies

Hi! New Ford owner here..heh. Not long bought a 53 plate Fusion 2, 50k on the dials, with the 5 speed Durashift EST box. Anyone got one of these?

It's mostly fine..coming from the world of "full" autos, it's taken a bit of adapting, but 99% of the time we agree..sometimes I feel it's lazy shifting, holding for too long and take control.

HOWEVER, sometimes, I pull out into traffic, and it..well..bogs down. Just won't go..full welly on the pedal and cringe, as it has no go. Then it remembers the job in hand and goes like a train. Sometimes it also seems slow on the shift..almost clutch slip for a few seconds. Is this common?

Trying to get some joy from the dealer on if there's any firmware upgrades for it..nothing so far.

Any pointers on here? I have to say the 1.4 seems flat below 1500-1800rpm, then it opens up nicely..is that usual, or is there something I can do to improve this?

Had it on grass the other day..USELESS traction, spinning wheels, and it stalled itself twice! Never had an auto stall before..heh. Yes, I know..there's no TC to prevent it..heh. I couldn't select second gear though to reduce spin..it wouldn't allow it! Dreading the snow in that.
