Ford Transit - Problem - Could It Be Hill Start Assist?

Featured Replies

Hi. Got a Ford Transit van 2010 model, 280T. Went for MOT today, MOT chap jacked car up on ramps to check wheel bearings etc. All brakes have locked on, van is motionless. I think it is connected to the Hill Start Assist which my van has. We can't reset it, ran out of time. Van is stuck in MOT station.

Never had a problem with brakes before, all works well. Tried to reset or turn off hill start assist using book in van, which we both found very confusing. Not clear instructions at all by Ford.

Anybody come across this before, any ideas. Bothering me how long van could be stuck for as brakes are locked on tight, front and rear. Any thoughts/guidance appreciated.

New to the site, not used to these discussion sites before, hope I have said things ok. Cheers, Paul

Dont think it would be HSA, I suspect its more an alternative issue such as brakes in general. when the engine is started did the brake pedal move at all?
