I have just bought a nice Focus mk1 Ghia 1.8 perol 1999 Focus. There is an oil leak.

Also there is a wet area around oil refill cup. Would replacement of an oil cup solve the issue?

Could you please have a look at the pics and specify what exactly in your opinion could the leak be and what to do with it?

Im not very au fete with the MK1, but I would be checking the basics like the oil sump and make sure that is sealed, also check the oil cap on top of the engine is airtight.

New oil sump needed its rusted and the oils seeping through recentky changed mine not to difficult to do either :) also new rocker gasket as well but dont tighten too much or it will leak the nuts just need nipped up

Also. An important announcement - the liquid on the engine or at least a part of is pink/red - a 100% coolant:)

Ive noticed crack on one of the pipes, so it drips from there. Bought a replacement pipe and the coolant on ebay. Labor is about £40. So not to bad after all.

The one main issue i have left still is CV gator on driver side front wheel (visible on one of the pictures). It is almost gone. Do you guys know how much would the cost of repair will be?
