Worse Problem You Had With Your Ford

Featured Replies

I bought a ford mondeo tdi titanium 58 plate that only had 79000 mls and I can only say that it was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I bought the car for £9000 less than three years ago from ford dealers in dunstable. Since I have had the car I have spent over £3000 on repairing this vehicle, for one the clutch went not long after I got the car and when replacing this I had to buy the whole comlete clutch cause of the make of this model which alone cost over £700 then I had to replace the cambelt which was another £1000 and now the gearbox has seized and for a new gearbox for this model will set you back at least £1700 and that's just for the part without fitting so now my car is sitting in a garage stripped cause I can't afford a gearbox after all the repairs I had to do on this car and not to mention that the electronics are really bad e.g. I have to change the brakelights and the headlights at least every two to three months the trimmings and stuff in the car also just fall apart. Now some ppl may think I am just bad luck and they will probably never go through what I'm going through and they might be right but the reason I got this car was because before I got this car I had another ford and that was a focus which when I bought I aslo took out w warranty but after two years the car started leaking oil and water into the shock plugs causing the car to stall most of the time and when I tried to use the warranty they started making all kinds of excuses till I called the finance company I told them about the car they financed to me so the told me if forb did not sort it out that they would get involved but when I got the car back it still had the same problem so I just ended up trading it in back to Ford. So please if anyone is going to by a Ford just remember you may just be buying a very expensive mistake

I have never had a problem with a Ford. Well not since the 1980,s when my XR3i sensor in the distributor packed up. Then it only cost a few quid to replace.

It does sound like you have had some bad luck or your dealer is selling you crap motors. The last two Focus's I had didn't cost me a penny in repairs apart from normal servicing. Not even a bulb blew. However I did own these from new and both were garaged.

My local dealers awesome these days, they always look after me.

I had more problems with indie's, who dont know their bottom from their elbow.

One word that every car hates RUST lol other wise a brilliant car oh and no air con as pump not working lol

Worst for me was the cambelt snapping at some unspecified speed on my 1975 MKIII Cortina, mind you it did have 211K miles on the clock and I never replaced it in the 6 years of ownership until it snapped.

£5 and 1 hour later and it was going again!

:O £5 and one hour....

Holy crackers!

Sadly I know that is old school money where £5 was a lot more, but even then I suspect it was about a quarter of the price you would pay for the same job today.
