Loose Hose In Engine Bay

Featured Replies

Hello, New member here :). Long story short - the engine oil filler cap came off during a trip to wales. managed to discover the fact before the oil lamp came on but big mess in engine bay. I have managed to clean most of it up and ordered a new filler cap, but now I have a loose hose that is approx 1cm in diameter that comes from the back of the engine bay (next to brake cylinder) and I am not sure what to do with it. I will try and post a picture but cant at the mo as there is no mobile signal where we are (caravan site in wales).

Thanks for listening.

Whoops forgot to say, its a 1.6 Focus LX on an 07 plate.

Could be a breather hose

The hose has a clip on it half way along its length which is approx 16 inches.

Definitely best to have a photo

If it's got like a double c-clip I'd put money on it being the AC/HVAC drain hose - comes out of the bulkhead area and the clip holds the hose to an 8mm stud on the bulkhead. The other end is not connected to anything.

Tried googling it but no joy so far, it's a common question when people think it should be connected to somewhere.
