Cat Problem 2006 Focus

Featured Replies

Hi all,

my Focus Zetec Climate 2006's engine management light comes on with "cat out of parameters" message on the reader attached to scart socket.

I can turn off the light and it remains off for about 80 to 100 miles , about 4 days travelling, about 30 ignition switch ons and it comes back on. This problem has been on the car now for last 3 to 4 years. I dont always turn the light off. The light has only turned itself off once by itself , not sure how that happened.

I have changed filling stations incase there was a problem with the petrol.

The car has passed all its MOTs without any work having to be done.

Does anyone have any tips / advice?

Regards all
