2006 Fiesta 1.4 Zetec Tiptronic Problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just bought a 2006 1.4 with Tiptronic - very low miles 9,600 - every time I go over a a bump, the warning light shows and 'Transmission failure, consult handbook'

Anyone seen this before - no loss of power, goes off after a few seconds. Thinking loose connector ?

probably is a loose connection.

Start by checking the fusebox, make sure there is a fuse there.... I found on my CMAX I was driving around without a transmission fuse at all for about 6 months!!! seems that there must have been something shorting the circuit and completing it. I put a fuse tap in that fuse spot when fiddling trying to sort out my DRL's, took it out (didnt put a fuse in as one wasnt there) then when I started the car I got transmission failure, checked the handbook and realised the problem and fitted a fuse to sort it! it could be something as silly as this to start with!
