Front Crash/ Impact Sensor Mk1 Focus

Hi,

I have a communication failure with front impact sensor for airbag error b2227. I have the focus mk1 1.6 flight 2002.I have tried reseting it but just reappears.

I have tried checking the connection terminal in N/S foot well but seems ok, my next thing im thinking is changing sensor as unable to test the old one.

Now I have part 2M5T-14B006-AB, I can only seem to source part with a different last letter ie AE,AD etc I have checked loads of breakers yards.

Now im told the last letter doesn't matter is that true as don't wanna either be stuck with new problem or airbag activate on first powerup. Im told the last letter just represents like a newer year of same part if that's just to sell me part I unsure any one confirm this?

Many Thanks

Appologies if there is a active thread I didn't locate one.

The last letter represents the revision number of a part. Every time Ford changes/improves a part the last letter of the part number will also change. In almost all cases the different revision numbers are interchangeable.

In this case part number 2M5T-14B006-AD and 2M5T-14B006-AE are just further developed/improved versions of part number 2M5T-14B006-AB.
