exhaust

Featured Replies

im due to pick up my mk7 zetec s next week and the one i test drove had a twin pipe designed backbox but was hidden. now, the rears of these new cars look pretty sweet and i cant help thinking that a more protruding tailpipe(s) would look alot nicer.

has anyone upgraded thiers and if so, can i see? is there a ford item or would it have to be an aftermarket one?

thanks

Try looking up the Mountune one - MIchelle on here has it - as they put a twin pipe on

I saw these exhaust trims which I think may fit. There is no Ford item.

hmm, so theres no ford alternative as of yet for the mk7? boo hoo

Well the Mountune is the 'authorised' conversion - I believe you can even get it fitted by certain Ford dealers and it does not affect your warranty etc.

As far as Ive been told the Mountune system is made by Milltek,at the moment they are only for Mountune  .Pumaspeed are working on their mk7 and the Milltek exhaust will become available

I just want the re-tune from Mountune!

I just want the re-tune from Mountune!

Im presuming by the retune you mean the one that doesn't lose power, good developments have been made , my car has had a tracker/logger in it for the past week , it did the power loss problem and it was recorded on the logger, mountune have read the data and are now doing changes to get the problem sorted, im now trying a different alteration and seeing how it goes, if anything does occur they should be able to see it in the logger.

RSM u sure the problem isnt ford theres a new tsb about theses mountune cars ur local ford dealer will be able to tell you what it is

Not as far as im aware, Mountune are dealing with it as thats where i had it fitted, the changes that i have had today seem to be going good at the moment, i have done alot of stop/start driving where i have switched her off and restarted her after a short while and all is going well. I will ask mountune about this tsb that is going around fords as im sure they will know, its probably something to do with the poweloss issue and probably going to tell the customer to let there car idle for 2 minutes until this problem is solved with a tweaked map.

No I meant a re-map bit like I had on my old MINI One Convertible that took it from 90bhp to 130bhp. I know that the Fiesta is not going to get that level of increase but a 20+ bhp increase would be nice

The most you will get out of a remap on these cars is probably 10-14bhp, why would Mountune bother putting a full exhaust system on that gains them no power if they could get the same power out of just the remap. The tdci fiesta will be a different story, a remap will give them cars a nice torque curve and plenty of poke.

Just spoke to Prochips and the remap offered gives a minimum of 14bhp.Someone on another forum has had their Zs done by them but no feedback from him yet. They also do a cat back system. :(

Now that sounds tempting and I bet it is cheaper than the £1299 + fitting for the Mounttune system - and I so do not want the exhaust for that

I have tried very hard to find an aftermarket exhaust for my 1.25 zetec. I like the kook of the mountune one but when i emailed them they said it was only available as part of the whole upgrade and would not supply one independntly. They told me to keep checking back though! Not sure it would even fit up to my 1.25 anyway :(

I have been quoted £300 for a fully fitted cat back system by powerflow. With the same twin pipe exit.

As for miltek......no reply after 2 emails and a phone call.....

Someone's telling you porkies--you don't get an increase of 40 bhp on a remap alone.

I wanted to have my Cooper S remapped (supercharged one) and the most they could do with a remap alone was about 10-14 bhp.

id like the mountune upgrade but am i the only one that doesnt like the twin tail pipe design???, i may get it changed to a single 3" rolled exit (through sumone else) as i think that would look beta, or one each side simular to a focus ST.

id agree that the focus st styleee would be better
