Buying A 1984 Fiesta

Featured Replies

I am looking at buying a 1984 Ford fiesta

I was just wondering if there is anything that i should look for when viewing the car e.g known problems etc

I would really appreciate some input from Ford owners

Cheers

Rust, rust, rust...

Sent from my Gen 1 WAP phone

Front and rear wheelarches, inner and outer sills, bulkhead, scuttle panel, inner wings, door bottoms, tailgate - all rust so check carefully. Looks pretty good in the pics but id be checking that front crossmember out behind the front valance.

What engine has it got?

like the minilite wheels, could be a nice project with a nice tuned lump under the bonnet,....

RUST.... has that been mentioned :iim:

Cheers for your quick reply

It was originally a 1.1 however it has had an engine swap so it currently has an XR2 engine.

Nice. I had a Mk1 with a 1740 XR2 engine on twin 40's, then a Mk2 with an Escort RS Turbo engine in it, had some fun in those! Let us know if you get it.

you cant beat the sound of a set of 40's PURRRRRRRR
