Galaxy Auto Gear Selector

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

New to this forum and wish we could meet under different circumstances  but I have a problem.

My 2002 2.8 Ghia auto was bought as a non runner with a diagnostic fault apparently so it was delivered by a transport company and parked right up on a kerb on a hill stuck in park. Impossible to rock it on my own I used a bit of force to try to get it out of park to move it off the kerb and an awful sound came from the selector. Now I can move the gear selector up and down but it will not select any gears and rolls freely in all positions except it will not go back into park so no chance of starting it.

At least it's parked correctly now  .

Any help much appreciated.

Could the selector cables or rods have jumped out somewhere ?

Cheers

Dave

Well,

Have narrowed it down to the gear selector in the car. Disconnected the rod under the battery tray and the selector in the car will still not move into park so summits bust in there somewhere :-(
