Flashing Glow Plug Light & No Revs

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I've got another problem with my '04 Focus. Driving along quite normally then the car cuts out! Engine is still running but I have no revs or response on the pedal. The glow plug light flashes also. I then need to pull over (hopefully having enough momentum to do so) and then turn the ignition off. It then starts straight away no problem and glow plug light is out. It can then be okay for a few days or continue to do it every couple of 100 yards for a week or two. It started about 6 months ago and it was suggested to me to run the car in third at about 4,000rpm for 2/3 miles to unblock some filter. Did this and it was okay for the last 6 months but now it's come back again. Other than it being dangerous as I need to coast to a stop to be able to turn off the ignition and in the fast lane on the motorway it can be pretty scary. I really need it done before it gets any worse. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Is it linked to my previous post? I think the injectors need replacing.

Thanks
