Sometimes my 1.6 duratec when warm sits at about 1,000 rpm before coming back to 800ish which sounds like 'proper' idle. Any ideas?

    Hi Ben,

    Thats normal for the cold as the air is more dense, and as the engine warms up it reduces its idle.mine does not too dissimilar.

    Its worth cleaning the Mass Air Flow sensor with electrical contact cleaner.

    Thanks. I've put 2,000 motorway miles on it in the last couple of months, and feels like it is running a lot better now anyway.
