Interior Water Leak On Ford Ka 2

Featured Replies

My daughter has a 2012 Ford KA & the carpet in the passenger footwell is soaking wet.

No obvious signs of water leaks & the drainage channels in front of the bulkhead where the wiper motor is housed are clear.

Is this a known problem & can anybody provide any advice on how to rectify?

Thanks

Is it definitely water?

I don't know where the heater matrix is for definite, but Fiat (for those thinking "But Sean, this is a FORD we're talking about?" Remember that the 2nd generation Ka's are built on the Panda platform) have a tendency to put it above the passenger footwell.

Thanks for the suggestion. Would this not lead to a reduction in heater performance or coolant loss, neither of which is evident?

It sounds as a faulty air condition (A/C), even though it works well for now, it might be the beginning of the problem. You need to take the car to a A/C specialist to look at it.
