Engine Cuts Out Whilst Driving

Featured Replies

Hi all

My daughters 1999 ford fiesta has developed a fault over the last week where it keeps cutting out whilst she is driving she has also noticed that it's using more fuel then normal , it's the 1275cc z-tech engine.

Any ideas ?

Thanks Gary

Hi all

Have since sprayed electrical contact spray in all terminals and even the ecu but still stalls anyone any ideas ?

Thanks Gary

Would a car that age give fault codes with an OBD reader?

Also check all wiring plug connections are secure and same with intake hoses to the manifold etc

Hi

I have checked and sprayed any terminals I can find and checked the intake hoses but still stalls . A friend did say it could be the immobiliser as the steering lock comes on when it stalls if she's turning , so I have tried the spare key and it seemed ok but yesterday it stalled 3 times , could it still be the immobiliser but not on the key side but the actual immobiliser are they common things to fail on old fords ?

Thanks Gary
