Focus Key Fob-Works In The Car Not Outside!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, first post......wife came home tonight and the car wouldn't lock on the key fob. I then started trawling the net for ideas and kept finding the same one Positon 1 to 2 x 4 in 6 secs etc. I did this and got a beep, pressed lock button on 1 key and beep, 2nd key beep! Left it for over 30secs and took key out. Pressed lock and Taa-Daa it locked and unlocked. Phew I thought.......until I got out, pressed lock and nothing-other key, nothing. Tried and tried process over and over (and changed batteries) and nothing!

Anyone got any ideas before I end up spending a fortune at Ford?

Thanks in advance

Start with the simple, change the battery on the fob, its probably running low to the point that the signal is appallingly week!

I did that Jeeb but still nothing. Very frustrating!

Have you done any mods to the car recently?

No mate, nothing. Can't understand it

Try putting the key fob to your temple as you unlock the car

Really?.........and the punchline?

no punchline.

The electrical impulses through your brain can emphasise the signal strength from the fob. For arguments sake, I can stand about 200 yards from the car at work, press the button and nothing. Then without moving any more than my key to my temple and press, the car will lock or unlock.

Wow! Ok thanks, I'll give it a go later - thanks

No worries, it just helps to bolster the signal so if the issue is a weak signal going out of the fob it can help determine it
