Can anyone tell me how to tell my 2011 Titanium Focus that the battery in the key fob has been changed and is not low again within a month of putting a new one in.

Been led to believe that you have to tell the car it has been changed not just enough to rely on changing the battery.

Any sugestions gratefully received.

I've not yet had a low battery warning on my focus,

But its supposed to clear when the signal from the fob becomes strong again.

You could try disconnecting car battery for 10 minutes to clear memory.

On my mk 2.5 the cluster brings up a message when the battery in the fob is getting low. Didn't have to do anything other than changing the battery, though it's maybe possible that if you take too long swapping the batteries over you'd need to re-learn the fob to the car.

But you'd have to do that before getting the car to start, not a month later. Perhaps the battery fitted has gone flat early but again I'd expect you'd get a cluster message about this first.
