Please Help Me, Im In Need!

Featured Replies

Hello guys, iv just replaced 1 door speaker and im struggling to get the door back on. Why the hell have you used clips to hold a door on!

Please help, its going dark in 1 hour and iv been at it all day.

Help help help please.

You mean you took the whole door off it's hinges or pulled the plastic trim pad off the door?

There's a couple of guides on here for fitting projector lights etc which cover the process for removing and refitting the doorpad in really good detail :)

Hello there friend.

Yes, I went to replace my door speaker only to realise when putting the door card back on, i cant!

I have put the door card back on with the 2 bolts you remove. Iv ordered a clip removal tool and a bunch of extra clips just for incase.

Iv already broken one plastic tug where it fits onto a clip putting it back on. Wish I knew this before removal. Nothing mentioned in the 'how to' section regarding this issue.

In case you've not seen it here's the guide

Sadly it's purely hit and miss if you manage to get the doorpad off without breaking any of the clip retainers on the back of the pad. Been there myself several times :( Plus with the pins being inboard from the edges of the pad it's pretty hard to get any sort of trim removal tool in there.

In theory pulling sharply around the doorpad edges will cause the pins to unlock from the metal door panel (they work bit like plastic rivets) but in practice that doesn't always happen. Nice and quick for fitting the doorpad in the factory but a pain if it needs to come off again.

Hello again mate, thankyou for getting back intouch.

Yes, I do have that link in my book marks. I cant get the clips off the steel panel on my door. This is why i have purchased a clip removal tool. I just cant get the !Removed! things off. If not, Il drill them out as I have purchased 20x new clips to replace them with. Never known a door like it. 1 set of speakers fitted, just need to get the other door sorted now lol.

The trick I've found to get the pins out of the door panel without destroying them in the process, is to use a trim fork or one of the white plastic retainers off the doorpad if one has fully broken off.

Slot the tool/retainer into the gap at the end of the pin where the 2 flat round sections are, then pull outwards but at the same time twist the tool so you're putting not just pulling outwards but a bit unevenly to one side.

This helps the inner of the pin to open up the fingers which usually lock it in the closed position and they release a lot easier. You may break one of the locking fingers but most of the time the clip will come out in 1 piece and can be used again no bother.
