Is there any reported faults with the intercooler ? I have a 12 plate SWB van last week it developed a whistling sound on gear changes and then engine malfunction warning came up so booked it into the local dealer of diagnostics turned out to be the intercooler ! They reckon I've damaged it and not covered under warranty yet close inspection shows a split and a bulge a the bottom!!! I'm sure I would know if I've hit something because I think the front bumper would have damage to

    I've heard of this happening to some aftermarket intercoolers on Focus ST's, can't remember the make but Gary at Profile Automotive had to replace quite a few which had bulged possibly also split open.

    Any similar faults listed on google?
