Engine Malfunction Light On

Featured Replies

Hi there , I'm a newbie to forums.

I bought a 2010 plate diesel Mondeo titanium in Mar 14. Not long after this the engine malfunction light came on. I returned it to the ford dealer who stated the faults had cleared. Car now out of warranty.

Over the last week or so the engine malfunction light comes on and there is sometimes a burning smell coming from the engine area although the temp gauge appears ok.

The light goes off after switching engine off for a while.

The other night I heard a kind of rubbing noise that disappeared,

The car has been in and out of the dealer but to be honest I think they are not giving me the full info on it.

It is going back in on Monday again for a diagnostic check however I suspect they'll brush me off again.

Can anyone suggest what the fault may be. Incidentally the car seems to be driving ok.

Further to above . I did a self diagnostic check as described on youtube. Faults 77 F1 and OF 13 showing. Cant find what they relate to though
