Sync 3 Blackberry

Featured Replies

I found out yesterday ford are dropping Microsoft for the sync car systems and are going to be using blackberry instead.

I'm on my phone so I can't properly add a link, besides which the articles appear vague anyway IMO

This is somewhat annoying considering I've 'just' ordered a 2015 car and in 2016 the new system is to be introduced!

Do you think they'll change the system in my car under warranty? As it'll be under warranty until 2018 (2020 if I do my planned 5 yr option)

Secondly if they won't and I doubt they will, would Microsoft still be obliged to support the current sync apps?

Or thirdly is it just a software thing and won't affect the hardware in the cars at all?

Edit: well this link answers the third question at least 8-)

It's an American article with American release dates. UK won't even get it for another couple of years anyway like the current sync stuff.

Also the article says the hardware will be different so no software upgrade
