No Brake Lights And Coil Warnig Light

Featured Replies

Evening All,

Need help please?

Galaxy Mk2 1.9TDI 53 Plate

Firstly had a problem with the lights which when pedal pressed ( Lights On ) released ( Lights On ) slight pull up of pedal and Lights out.

Now have no lights when pedal pressed and coil warning light Flashes !!!!!!!!!!

To Ford got a replacement Brake Switch £20 and Green. Fitted and still no Lights and Warning light flashes

So With that checked all fuses, Looped pin 1 and 4 on connector and Lights on. Ok fitted new switch connected and nothing again.

Tested Pins 1 and 4 on meter no circuit...Tested 2 and 3 Open Circuit.. Tested old switch and 1 and 4 open circuit. 2 and 3 no circuit

Both tested off and on the bracket

Pin 1 - Red / Yellow Stripe - 12v

Pin 2 - Black / Yellow Stripe - No Idea

Pin 3 - Yellow / White Stripe - No Idea

Pin 4 - Black / Red Stripe - No Idea

Haynes and Tis does not show what Pins 2,3 and 4 actually do or go to

Anyone got any idea what is going on please?

Regards

B
