Focus Tdci 2002 Starting Problems

Hi I have a focus tdci 1.8 2002 it has started to play up ie sometimes it just won't start I need to bump it then it's fine for a few day then it happend again,any help would be welcome thanks jay



Hello and welcome.

Can you provide some more info, is the engine turning over? Or is nothing happening when you turn the key? This time of year is hard on batteries and starter motors so could be related.

Hi yes engine is turning over but will not start and battery will go flat but if I bump start it, it starts easy then it will be fine for days then out of the blue it will do it again even after a long drive,I keep reading about shudder valve problems and it sounds like the same problems I am having thanks jay
