Dymaxion - What?

Featured Replies

The Dymaxion was a huge bubble car, with a Ford V8 and lots of space.

It was a 3 wheeler.

Unfortunately the single steering wheel was at the back, as in 1933 there where no CV joints.

Can this vehicle be re-made, with steering wheels in the front?

It achieved 85mph at the time, so with a more modern engine, it may achieve its design speed of +120mph?

I hope that Ford makes available drawings which would allow for replicas to be build?

I would doubt it, as 3 wheel motor vehicles reaching these speeds in modern day would not pass any sort of modern safety standards. a 3 wheeler does not have any stability in modern day speeds and conditions and so it really wouldnt be approved for public highway use.

N-cap rating would be interesting ;)
