Faster Fiesta?!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I bought my Fiesta a few weeks ago... I went from an Audi A4 estate (I have a big dog, so it was mainly for transporting him) 1.9 TDI 130BHP, to my little 1.4 TDCI fiesta baby.

I absolutely love her, but I'm really struggling with the fact that she struggles with getting up to any sort of speed! She's only got 67BHP :(.

So my question is without the obvious engine swap how do I make her faster? Is the only option to buy a turbo, straight through pipes and new exhaust system etc and fit it all then remap and hope I get a little more out of her?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

That's really the only way these days to get more power from your car. A remap will be the best option I think to get what you want. I'm not really an expert in this field but there are plenty of members on here have done this sort of thing and will give u advice on it.

As youve already said, only way of gaining real power gains is turbo and exhaust route etc.

With it being a diesel you can get chips/remaps for it and gain some sufficient gains from a remap, all depends how much power your really wanting. Otherwise you've got the wrong car if you want power and gains.

Youre going to feel the difference driving a car with 50% less BHP than you used to have!

You cant expect it to go like your Audi did unfortunately, poor thing :(

You can help it a little though, making it breathe easier is always the first step, so performance air filter/induction kit will help as will a free flow exhaust.

Next stage would be a remap, you should ring round a few tuners in your area and tell them what you want from the car - more power, better driveability, better fuel consumption etc and they should be able to map it to whatever you want from the car really, but i wouldnt expect a huge gain from a 1.4 Diesel.

Hi and welcome :)

As others have said really. I've heard good things about remaps on Fiesta diesels, and upgrading the intake and exhaust should help a little. Changing the turbo could be very expensive though. Being a 58 reg I wonder if it doesn't have a DPF?

It might be better to save the money and upgrade to a 1.6 diesel or 1.6 petrol.
