Another daft question or 2

Mk3 2006 2.0 TDci ghia X but I cannot seem to find a remote switch for the boot. There is nothing in the ctr console just a blanking piece on the drivers side the size of 2 switches where I believe it is supposed to be.

Does anyone know if the wiring will be there if I remove the blank? If so then I will get a switch.

Secondly is there a key lock for the bootlid?

    I thought the Mk3's had a mechanical key in the bootlid? Mine was in the centre of the bootlid underneath the black plastic trim above the rear numberplate.

    Pull out the blanking plate and see if any wiring plugs are tucked up anywhere, my Mk3 had a boot release button so cant say off hand if the wiring is there anyway and its just plug-and-play.

    Thanks Ade will get on it. just polybushed rear subframe and roll bar. had to remove subframe as bolts for roll bar brackets needed helicoils but soooo much better now.

    All these jobs IDK.
