Hi I bought a new ford fiesta last September and it had the additional extra keyless entry, When I park by my house and lock the car, the car will open to any one if they press the black button on the handle , and the keys are in the house. Has any one experience this with a keyless entry.

Oh dear it definitely shouldn't be doing that. I haven't got keyless entry on mine but I do have experience with them. In my experience it should only work when you are next to your car and pull the door handle then it should open. If you step a few steps away it should not open if someone else try's. I recommend going back to the dealer and getting it checked and sorted under warrenty.

Have phone my local dealer where I got it from and they have contacted fords technical and they say there is a range of 5 feet, but my keys are in the house . have contacted fords direct as well and they say that there is no fault with the car .but the car hasn't been in the garage for them to check.

5 meters is way to far for the keys to still unlock the doors in my eyes. If I had keyless entry on my car no matter where my keys where in the house anyone could walk on to the drive and gain access to the car which is not good or acceptable security. I would still get it checked out as to me it doesn't seem right at all. Every other one I've used have sensors in the door handle so when you grab the handle the door will open and the button on the handle only locks the car. It will be better if someone with experience of fords system could tell you if there's is the same as I've never had any experience with the ford system.

Have you tried moving the keys further away to make sure it is definitely locking properly?

On my Fiesta, even standing at the front of the car was enough for the keyless to stop working.

It definitely shouldn't be doing that. With mine you have to have the key and be standing next to the thing you're trying to open. For example when I was just about to open the driver's door my friend tried to unlock the passenger door and it didn't open, which is as it should be because I had the key on my side of the car.

I'd take it straight to a dealer and show them the problem. If the car is unlocking with the key far away that's a serious problem, so don't let them fob you off.

Edit: until they fix it the car is basically not fit for purpose because it doesn't have a working lock, in my opinion.

I am sure that this is not the procedure however I have number of question to ask which have no relevance to your request for assistance, so sorry Mandy for buttin in on your topic / assistance request.

I have a very old ford fiesta, which had previously been owned by a one person, I have found that at approximately 35 miles per hour and also at 65 miles per hour the accelerator pedal seems to offer resistance and the engine feels to be struggle. however after a short period of time or upon pressing the accelerator the engine appears to push through the problem. Does anyone have any knowledge or care to comment upon this topic.

Secondly, yesterday I locked the three door vehicle however upon returning I found I was unable to unlock the drivers door. I therefore gained access via the passenger door. I opened the drivers door from inside and examined locking mechanism erroneously flicking the latch within the door lock. I was unfortunately, unable to reverse this process and was therefore forced to drive the vehicle whilst holding the drivers door closed to my local garage. They were unable to fully examine the problem due to the rain and burden of work.

My question is as this a non central locking model, what problems likely to have caused this issue; should I strip the door lining off is there any possibility of me been able to remedy the problem by simply putting something back onto its runner or whatever. Or is the problem more likely to be more complex and require the work of a professional mechanic.
