My 2001 Focus frivers door will sometimes open...then again it will not

key turns but no unlock sound...

could it be the key and lock or the complete assy inside door card

can anyone help....many tks

    Can you lock it but not unlock it? If so it could be a worn key or lock barrel. Try the spare if you have one.
