Steering Issues

Featured Replies

So I was happily driving back from London as I do every week in my 03 1.4 fiesta. I'd just pulled out of the services when I felt my steering wheel become really resistant to movement. I could move it the smallest amount left and right but not much. I had the really crank it just to change lanes. After about 5 minutes of back and forth the car finally started to behave itself like nothing was wrong.

Then as I came of the motorway it happened again and again.

Any ideas I'm completely stuck and my garage can't fit me in till Monday.

Thanks in advance.

Check power steering fluid level, could be low, could also be a failing pump. Any unusual noises?

I'd second that - is it a belt driven pump for the power steering? worth checking that too
