1.6 Duratorq Warm Up Time

Featured Replies

Is there any remedy for the unbelievably slow warm up time of these engines?

I know this has beem mentioned in the past, but was wondering if there are any up dated info.

Are you talking to start the engine, or are you talking engine coolant getting to 90 degrees?

Sorry forgot, to get to running temp as has been said before mine takes 10 miles or so.

The temperature on the dash is coolant I believe and not engine, the engine oil can be warmed up in as little as 3 miles, the fact the coolant is staying so cold is good in a way as the coolant is still cooling the engine but keeping cold enough to stay off the radar.

Just makes defrosting the car and frost bite last longer than I'm used to, I can live with it, but rather it was warm in 3 or 4 miles like every other car I've owned.

Most diesels take a while to warm up always had diesels when I got my current car couldn't believe how quickly it got warm!
