Fusion Titanium Cigarette Lighter Socket

Featured Replies

Hi all,

apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere, but a search hasn't revealed anything.

My father owns a 61-reg Fusion titanium. Recently, I bought him a dash-camera which plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. He believes that it has been responsible for draining his battery. I have the same dashcam in my 63-reg Galaxy titanium, and the cigarette lighter socket goes dead ( i.e. delivers no current) a few minutes after the doors are locked, so I naturally assumed (silly me) that the Fusion would behave similarly. With the Galaxy, power starts to be re-delivered when the remote unlocks the doors.

Can anyone please advise how the Fusion's cigarette lighter should/does operate, current-wise? I'm quite a distance from the old fella, so it's difficult for me to perform the tests myself.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks for confirming my fears. Disappointing that Ford is not consistent across its range, though.
