Hi wondered if anyone could help me on something. I have an xr3i engine in my off-road buggy, which is built mainly using escort/fiesta & some Anglia parts.. Key for ignition was lost and havn't been able to find a like for like ignition barrel to replace.. Tried the screwdriver method, unsuccessfully and barrel now goosed.. I have disconnected wiring from barrel but wondered if you could help me identify which wires are which.. Presume thick red is battery feed, yellow possibly starter, but not sure, and Halfords don't have a Haynes in stock !

In order to get her started.. I believe I need to bridge the power (Red) to ignition wires ? Which should give me dash light, then spark the "starter wire" onto the connected battery wire to start ? Took some pics below...

Any help/pointers appreciated, don't just want to experiment and end up burning out wiring.. Cheers, Kev

    Think I have found a universal ignition switch on ebay that should hopefully work.. once I've identified wiring...
