Well quick upate my car has been in ford since last Friday and insurance company still ain't authorised the repairs wants taking them so long. I'm with ford insure they seem to be a bit slacky.

I'm not sure if they'll have to asses options as it's been stolen and not involved in an accident.. Plus depending on 'how' it was stolen. E.g. Drilling holes in places may affect what they have to do / lead time for parts etc!

Just keep ringing up and pestering them :)

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

As above i'd say... KEEP PESTERING THEM!

Scummers, shame you cannot got all GTA and rig it with explosives for unauthorised use.

What they'll do is weigh up the cost of repairs, which may be high due to it needed a new code programming and new locks etc vs the cost of the actual value and selling it on.

you get the lower option, I don't see it costing 40% of the cars value to fix those issues but you never know, it may show on HPI but you need to ask the insurance company about that one.

Sorry to hear about it though.

Send the wolf to see them.

Car back now all good and perfect. They only drove 2.5 miles in it as I had hardly no petrol when parked up the night before. So in total I cost 2grand to put right and I have now lost 3 years of my 5 years ncb and had to buy a stoplock pro and pay 120 excess.

At least you got it back. I've invested in one of these... [plus a dummy ODB port]

Where did you get the dummy OBD port Lee?

Sorry, i've only just seen this.

I had a gander on eBay, at people "breaking" MK7 Fiesta's. Sent numerous messages to different sellers, until 1 guy came back to me... and said he'd supply it for £10. Not bad considering someone else wanted £30 for the plug, I said no thanks to that. lol

As far as i'm aware once inside a Keyless they can plug into the OBD port and reprogram etc. There's been plenty on here about this and on the TV as well.

My mate ( Ford dealer parts dept manager & a tech guru) has a Focus ST225 2009 has moved the obd port location elsewhere & fitted a fake one powered by a 12v feed so any device plugged in will be knackered .

Currently ST & RS are beem targetted by smashing glass & plug in some device in obd port & starts in 10 secs & away its gone.

you'd think ford who now about this problem would relocate obd port to a more secure location

Sorry to hear that hope it is found

Daniel, you're slightly late to the party. The car was found, repaired and now back with Mike :D

This really is a silly idea... Seriously? He hasn't max'ed out the mods on his car yet and you can't modify a car once it has explosives fitted...

Most likely duplicated the frequency from your key, unlocked the car & coded a new key via OBD.

has it been in a garage or anything recently where they could have made themselves a key?
