Aotomatic Gearbox Oil Change

Featured Replies

Service schedule for a 61 plate galaxy does not specify an oil change for the auto gearbox and yet I have read on some car sites that this should be done after 3 years.

Any views on this

Which engine / gearbox?

AIUI Ford DO now require Powershift 'DSG-type' wet clutch autos to have the oil changed every 3 years (extra cost option no doubt like the brake fluid every 2 years).

But the Durashift torque-converter boxes used on the 2.2 engine should be sealed for life.

Schedules from ETIS should be correct if you generate the service schedule for your reg no. http://www.etis.ford.com/fordservice/home.do

A 2.0 Powershift 61 plate I found for sale does have the oil and filter change listed as an extra cost item.

Mine is the 2.2 TDI titanium X which doesn't need changing according to etis.ford schedule. This ties in with what you say if it is sealed for life. Thanks
