I think I might go for the Pumaspeed one... their figures are realistic and their dyno curves linear ... But I could wait for Mountune if I knew something was up from their side...

Does any one know why you can't Mountune remap the 100ps model?

Didn't get a reason from Mountune when I enquired.

There's mechanical differences between the two.

I didn't think there were any differences other than the Turbo and ECU tweaked for the 125ps.

A thought that too all a think the 125 is a different map that's all

Is there any noticable difference between 125 and 135?

I can't see it myself.

Not much Ray

all the mountune is good for is the badge or sticker! lol

there maps are so safe thats why theres only 10bhp increase, thats why there ford approved and expensive.

should imagine ford have told them not to go to far incase theres a flood of engine failures which gives bad press regardless of how they failed(remapped)

quite a few remaps are available that keep well within the safe tuning window.

good example was remapping hardware i used on my previous car, 256bhp standard, remap using standard remap supplied 285bhp, then through carefull adjustments to map i got 318bhp, and just a big gain in torque.

trick was knowing when to increase boost and ign timing

Stupid question James but I take it you've got a 125ps Tit?

Yeah mate but I will keep a eye out for 100ps options I don't really know why 100ps can't be done to MP135 personally a think they don't allow it because it's too big a gain So too good a offer and that's why they want you to get the 125ps model so therefore spending more money for Ford pockets but just ma opinion but seems like marketing strategies

I agree. Shame as if they did give the option then I would probably go with it now rather than risk an non-warranty remap.

what remap can u get to inprove my mpg thats even if there is one or one that does both bhp and mpg mostly want better mpg tho first car dont know !Removed! and ant a clue of different names of remaps or even where to get one from or these superchips what do they do and do they last forever like a remap or? also whats a ruff price for a remap?/superchip

Most remap companies claim better MPG with more BHP.

As mentioned in this post, you have a number of companies offering maps for between £300 - £500. Check them out.

Mountune

Superchips Blufin

Superchips claim.

In today's market with soaring fuel prices, a Superchips remap means IMPROVED FUEL ECONOMY as well as improved performance - saving you money in the long run.

Pumaspeed

Collins

cheers buddy I'll check out the links now but which one would you go for then out of these if you was me and just wanted mostly better mpg

If you just want better mpg don't bother with any of them, changing your driving style would be cheaper.

Ha yeah true that...

That said, post bluefin on my ZS tdci I was able to drive a 'little less' conservatively and still see improved mpg!

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

that would be no fun tho mark tbh im not heavy footed its just now and then iam mpg is just !Removed! all together on these cars i think to say ford said we would get 50+ and iv been seeing 30 it im lucky and do that pumaspeed do bluefin as pumaspeed is close to me

As Mark mentioned earlier, if MPG is important then don't waste your money.

yeah you will lose some mpg with any remaps (some increase but mostly decrease) but on the other hand a couple mpg wont be that bad to be honest lol

iv never been really ine for power it doesnt bother me long as it can move a little and these definitely can i just want better mog out of it without driving like my gran

The thing is if you spend about £300 on a remap, it will have to give you an extra 5 mpg or more to be worthwhile, otherwise it'll never pay for itself. And that's never going to happen, except maybe on a diesel.

cheers for that I'll just leave it then :)

Some guys seem confused about this so I might as well clear it up if I can... You don't get a remap to lower your fuel consumption...you get one to increase the car's performance... In most cases there might an increase in mpg if you drive like a normal person, but if you fancy flooring it you will see the mpg halved... Your fuel economy will be f....d up and you will end up just revving it up to 3.000 rpm just to save fuel... and you won't be enjoying your car...

Regarding the poll.... I found out about a swedish company named Rica... and it remaps both the 1.0 and 1.6l (ST)... i don't know about the ST remap but the 1.0l remap is A M A Z IN G guys... I drove one with this remap on and I can guarantee you that is a hell of a lot faster than my black edition!
