Hi, I have a focus zetec 2008 and recently its started intermitantly failing to start and its saying transmission malfunction on the display screen. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it could be??

    Check the fuse first off, my car was running without one for ages as something was shorting the gap not a fuse... Otherwise it could be torque converter or linkages.

    iv been told that transmission is usually the gearbox, if we jump start it it will run for a couple of weeks, it did it yesterday and then its just done it tonight!!

    The battery, it keeps failing to start but there's a green light on the battery that indicates the battery is ok
